Obituary of Loretta Jo Skaggs

Loretta Jo LeGrand Skaggs, 81, passed away on April 2, 2020 at the Masonic Home in Louisville, Kentucky. Born in Butler County Kentucky on December 22, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Odell LeGrand and Anna Embry LeGrand Townsend. Loretta was married to her late husband, Hubert W. Skaggs and had one child, David Mitchell Skaggs. Loretta worked for the American Printing House in Louisville. For the majority of her life, Loretta was a Teachers Assistant for the Jefferson County Public Schools System. Loretta loved her family and was a devoted daughter, sister, wife and mother her entire life. Another passion of hers was preparing and cooking food. Most importantly, Loretta was a Christian and was a member of the Southend Church of Christ in Louivsille. Loretta is survived by her son, David Mitchell Skaggs (Jessica); three sisters, Charlotte Bray, Mae Lou Swisher and Joyce Edlen; three grandchildren, Mercedes Skaggs, Brandon Skaggs and David Ray Skaggs; and three great-grandchildren. She is preceeded in death by her father, Odell LeGrand; mother, Anna Townsend; three sisters, Jean Heaverin, Nevada Purdy and Mary Sue Smith; and two brothers, J. Lee LeGrand and Royce A. Milton. Private services and Burial will be held at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Saffell House Funeral Home.
