Obituary of Bettie Jean Stead
Bettie Jean Stead went to be with the Lord, Saturday morning, June 29th at 3:30 a.m. at her home in Salvisa, Kentucky with her family present.
She leaves behind her husband of 39 years, James Stead; her two children, daughter- Terri Eck (Richard) and son- Jim Bozeman (Melinda); her two sisters, Sandra Enmon and Sharon Walther; eight grandchildren, Richard Eck lll, Shawn Bozeman, Abby Turner, Amelia Turner and Jonathon Turner, Robin Maggard, Mary Bertotto, and Elizabeth Chavez; and 16 great-grandkids .
Born on September 23, 1940 to James and Mildred Winstead in Morton, Missiissippi. She was raised in Texas City, Texas with her siblings. She left home at 16 to marry her first husband, Larston Bozeman of 22 years, and the father of her two children. Bettie completed her GED and went on to beauty school while later establishing her own beauty salon in Waco, Texas. Later, she left Texas and moved to Kentucky where she married Jim Stead.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 5, 2019 from 3-5 p.m. at Saffell House Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will follow visitation at 5 p.m. with a reception to follow at Family Worship Center Church at 1053 Frankfort Rd., Lawrenceburg, Kentucky 40342.
Services will be presided by Chaplin Lee Brewer.
