Obituary of Gracie Irene Sheets

Gracie Irene Fields Sheets, 85, passed away at her home on Friday, November 8, 2024. Born on December 31, 1938, in Virgie, Kentucky, she was the beloved daughter of the late Harrison Fields and Marie Tackett Fields.

Gracie graduated from the second nursing class at Good Samaritan Hospital and dedicated nearly 30 years of her career to the hospital before transitioning to home health care. Her life’s work was her true passion, as she wholeheartedly devoted herself to caring for others.

Gracie is cherished in memory by her loving daughter, Dee Dee Robinson, and her grandson, Justin Robinson. She will be dearly missed by her sisters, Glenna Holifield, Alice Cowden, and Debbie Smith; her brothers, James Fields and Harrison Fields; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Known for her immense love for her family, Gracie also had a special place in her heart for her pets, who brought her much joy.

In addition to her parents, Gracie was preceded in death by her sisters, Shirley Johnson and Barbara Sue Fields, and her brothers, Joe Fields and Kenny Fields.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Gracie’s memory to your favorite animal charity, as she held a deep love for animals throughout her life.

A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
