Obituary of James Leslie Tipton

James Leslie “Jim”  Tipton, 80, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024. He was born on January 21, 1944, in Irvine, KY, to his late parents, “Bill Dardy” James Beverly Tipton and Beulah Trimble Tipton. Jim was married to his beloved wife, Rose Marie Cox Tipton.

Jim had a passion for old cars; he loved restoring them and was an outstanding painter. He loved being outdoors working on the farm. Above all, Jim cherished his wife, Rose. She was the best thing that ever happened to him.

In addition to his wife, Jim is lovingly remembered and survived by his son, Mathew Tipton (Katherine); daughter, Ashlee Marie Arias (William); sons, David and Jimmy Tipton; grandchildren, Amelia JoLee Tipton, Katie West, and Hunter West; and sisters, Wavelene Embs and Sherry Kinnard.

Jim was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Peggy Lane; and brother, Benton Tracy Tipton.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. at Saffell House Funeral Home. There will be a private family graveside service held at a later date.
