Obituary of Robert Owen Rankin, Jr.

Robert Owen Rankin, Jr., 52, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. He was born on July 18, 1971 in Louisville, KY to Robert Owen Rankin, Sr. and Mary Jo Cecil Rankin. He was the husband of Patricia Ann White Rankin.

Robert and his wife have lived in Lawrenceburg for 18 years where they started their family. Before moving to Lawrenceburg Robert was from Hardinsburg, KY where he graduated from St. Romuald. Robert was a machinist working for Capital City Tool in Frankfort, KY. Robert was a preacher, preaching to those who would join in his home. He loved fishing with his daughter and playing any board game. Robert was a loving husband and father.

Robert is survived by his wife Patricia Rankin; daughter, Margaret “Maggie” Rankin; mother, Mary Jo Rankin; sister, Amy Disney; niece, Whitney Phelps; nephew, Aaron Disney; and friends, Andrew Tucker, Brian Adams, and Monkey Jacob.

Robert is predeceased by his father, Robert Rankin, Sr..

Visitation will be held at Blessed Hope Baptist Church, 2015 Evergreen Rd. Frankfort, KY 40601 on Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a Memorial Service immediately following at 12 p.m. with Joshua Freeland officiating the service.
