Obituary of Calvin Ray Mink

Calvin Ray Mink, 76, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021. Born in Rockcastle, Ky to the late Walter and Sally Whitaker Mink. Calvin was married to his wife, Barbara Sue Davidson Mink for 56 years. Calvin graduated from Woodford County High School. Calvin and his wife were residents of Lawrenceburg. He served as a volunteer Fireman at Station 2 in Alton. Calvin was a member of the Overland Church of Christ in Lawrenceburg. He enjoyed metal detecting, fishing and hunting. He also attended the Indy 500 every year where he served as a guard. Calvin is survived by his wife, Sue Mink; daughters, Rebecca Sue Sadler (Alan) and Lisa Michelle Ennis (Joel); brothers, Doyle Mink and David Mink; grandchildren, Joshua Sadler, Jonathan Sadler, Brianna Ennis and Chase Ennis; and great-grandchild, Ray Sadler. Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Sally Mink; sister, Kay Mink Slavey; and a brother, James Mink. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Bluegrass Care Navigators in Frankfort, Ky in Calvin’s honor. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Saffell House Funeral Home from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.. The Funeral Service will immediately follow on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 2 p.m.. The Burial will immediately follow the service on Thursday at Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Alan Sadler, Joel Ennis, and David Davidson. The service will be officiated by Steve Hardin and Jonathan Sadler. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Saffell House Funeral Home.
