Obituary of Andrew Jackson Butts

Andrew “Jackie” Butts, 83, passed away August 29, 2021 in Lawrenceburg, KY. Born February 21, 1938 in Mt. Eden, KY to the late Ottis Willis and Vina Sarah Clark Butts. Andrew was the husband of Carolyn Jean Travis Butts for 56 years. Andrew served his country from 1956-1960 in the United States Air Force. Then he worked for the United States Postal Service for 25 years. Andrew and his wife were members of Hebron Baptist Church in Salvisa; Andrew was also a member of the American Legion in Lawrenceburg. It was said that Andrew could fix anything; he loved to tinker and build. He was a wonderful husband, father and papaw. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Butts; daughters, Trena Marie Page (Joe) and Regina Rice (Mark); brother, John Butts; grandchildren, Shawna Lively, Codey Lynn, Ashley Lynn, Samantha White and Josie Rice; great-grandchildren, Ashtin Lively, Caroline Lynn, and Kyle White; and other extended family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ottis Willis and Vina Sarah Clark Butts; sisters, Ophelia Martin and Rayma Watts; brothers, Ottis Butts Jr. (Buddy), David Butts, Garnett Butts and Champ Butts. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 1, 2021 from 1-8 p.m. at Saffell House Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Saffell House Funeral Home at 10 a.m. with the graveside following at Sunset Memorial Gardens on Thursday.
