Obituary of David Lee Grubbs

David Lee Grubbs, 79, passed away on June 20, 2021. Born August 26, 1941 in Bloomfield, KY to the late Willard and Elizabeth Cheatum Grubbs. He was married and survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Grubbs. David was a Army Veteran during the Vietnam War time, he served as a MP on the German wall. After returning home he served as Chief of Police in Taylorsville, KY where he lived; he also lived in Lawrenceburg. David loved guns, knives, fishing, flea markets, trading cars and wheeling/dealing. David is preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Elizabeth Cheatum Grubbs; a son, Robert Jeffery; and brothers, Billy Grubbs, Phillip Grubbs and Junior Grubbs. He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Grubbs; son, David Keith Grubbs; step-daughter, Pamela Ball; brothers, Johnny Grubbs, Dennis Grubbs and Ricky Grubbs; grandchildren, Ashley Grubbs, Brooke Grubbs Meriwether, Stephen Ball and Olivia Ball; great-grandchildren, Torrie Garlen, Cheyenne Grubbs and Braxton Connely. A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2021 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Saffell House Funeral Home. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Saffell House Funeral Home.
