Broken Chain

We little knew the day that

God was going to call your name.

In life we loved you dearly,

In death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you

but you didn’t go alone,

for part of us went with you

the day God called you home.

You left us peaceful memories.

Your love is still our guide,

and though we cannot see you

you are always at our side.

Our family chain is broken

and nothing seems the same,

but as God calls us one by one.

“I Fought a Good Fight”

Life is a matter of choices made at every fork in the road, and none made for an easy way to carry or lighten the load.

But I’ve been strong, carried on through the fog of life; able to say

I fought the good fight, did my very best, triumphed over my fears and laid them all to rest.

I’ve made my share of mistakes,
but by my choices I still stand, for in all my chosen paths, there’s always been God’s hand reaching out to guide and comfort in each and every day, and in all my darkest hours, that grace has shone the way.

-Carolyn Brunelle

Miss Me, But Let Me Go

When I come to the end of the road

And the sun has set for me

I want no rites in a gloom filled room

Why cry for a soul set free!

Miss me a little - but not too long

And not with your head bowed low

Remember the love we once shared

Miss me - But let me go!

For this journey we all must take

And each must go alone

It's all part of the master plan

A step on the road to home

When you are lonely and sick at heart

Go to the friends we know

And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds

Miss me - But let me go!

Weep Not For Me

Weep not for me though I have gone

Into that gentle night

Grieve if you will, but not for long

Upon my soul’s sweet fight

I am at peace, my soul’s at rest

There is no need for tears

For with your love I was so blessed

For all those many years

There is no pain, I suffer not

The fear is now all gone

Put now these things out of your thoughts

In your memory I live on

Remember not my fight for breath

Remember not the strife

Please do not dwell upon my death

But celebrate my life

The Everlasting Light

Those we love must someday pass
beyond our present sight...
must leave us
and the world we know
without their radiant light.
But we know that like a candle
their lovely light will shine
to brighten up another place
more perfect ... more divine.
And in the realm of Heaven
where they shine
so warm and bright,
our loved ones live forevermore
in God's eternal light.

A Fallen Limb

A limb has fallen from the family tree.
I keep hearing a voice that says,

“Grieve not for me.
Remember the best times, the laughter, the song.
The good life I lived while I was strong.
Continue my heritage,                            I’m counting on you.
Keep smiling and surely                         the sun will shine through.
My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest.
Remembering all, how I truly was blessed.
Continue traditions, no matter how small.
Go on with your life,                             don’t worry about falls.
I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin.
Until the day comes we’re together again.”

Life Is But a Stopping Place

Life is but a stopping place, a pause in what’s to be, a resting place along the road, to sweet eternity. We all have different journeys, different paths along the way. We all were meant to learn some things, but never meant to stay. Our destination is a place, far greater than we know, for some, the journey’s quicker, for some the journey’s slow. And when the journey finally ends, we’ll claim a great reward and find an everlasting peace, together with the Lord.

Do not stand at my grave and weep

I am not there. I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.

I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain.

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush

I am the swift uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circled flight.

I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry;

I am not there. I did not die.

“To Remember Me”

The day will come when my body will lie upon a white sheet neatly tucked under four corners of a mattress located in a hospital; busily occupied with the living and the dying. At a certain moment a doctor will determine that my brain has ceased to function and that, for all intents and purposes, my life has stopped.
When that happens, do not attempt to instill artificial life into my body by the use of a machine. And don’t call this my deathbed. Let it be called the bed of life, and let my body be taken from it to help others lead fuller lives.

Give my sight to the man who has never seen a sunrise, a baby’s face or love in the eyes of a woman.
Give my heart to a person whose own heart has caused nothing but endless days of pain.
Give my blood to the teenager who was pulled from the wreckage of his car, so that he might live to see his grandchildren play.
Give my kidneys to the one who depends on a machine to exist from week to week.
Take my bones, every muscle, every fiber and nerve in my body and find a way to make a crippled child walk. Explore every corner of my brain.
Take my cells, if necessary, and let them grow so that, someday a speechless boy will shout at the crack of a bat and a deaf girl will hear the sound of rain against her window.
Burn what is left of me and scatter the ashes to the winds to help the flowers grow.
If you must bury something, let it be my faults, my weakness and all prejudice against my fellow man.
Give my sins to the devil.
Give my soul to God.
If, by chance, you wish to remember me, do it with a kind deed or word to someone who needs you. If you do all I have asked, I will live forever.

“The Road Not Taken”

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,

And sorry I could not travel both

And be one traveler, long I stood

And looked down one as far as I could

To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,

And having perhaps the better claim,

Because it was grassy and wanted wear;

Though as for that the passing there

Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay

In leaves no step had trodden black.

Oh, I kept the first for another day!

Yet knowing how way leads on to way,

I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh

Somewhere ages and ages hence:

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—

I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference.

-Robert Frost.

The Middle Child

He was a devil and an angel all rolled into one;

He was the middle child, his mother's pride, the second son;

I believed everything he said and thought there was nothing he didn't know;

and everywhere he went I found myself wanting to go;

He shoveled snow for nickels so he could buy a can of soup when there was nothing to eat;

This put him in the bed as such a task made it difficult for him to breathe;

He was an angry teen who believed his life had been one big lie;

Because of this, he grew bitter something he didn't try to hide;

Then one night, he got on an airplane that took him jar far away;

I didn't understand and I cried all night long and into the next day.

When he came home, for me, all was right with the world;

But now we were different, he wasn't a boy anymore

and I was no longer a little girl;

As the years passed,

he became a success story second to no other;

He was the middle child, the second son, but most of all he is my hero, my dear sweet brother.

I'm Free

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free

I’m following the path God has laid you see.

I took His hand when I heard him call

I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day

To laugh, to love, to work, to play.

Tasks left undone must stay that way

I found that peace at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void

Then fill it with remembered joy.

A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss

Oh yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow

I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.

My life’s been full, I savored much

Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief

Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.

Lift up your hearts and peace to thee

God wanted me now; He set me free.

I Know Where He Is

THEY CONTINUALLY SAY TO ME “WHERE IS YOUR GOD?  WHERE IS YOUR GOD?”

THEY CONTINUALLY QUESTION ME “WHERE IS YOUR GOD?  WHERE IS YOUR GOD?”

BUT I KNOW WHERE HE IS –

HE’S IN THE STORM, HE’S IN THE RAIN, HE’S IN THE MIDDLE OF MY PAIN

HE’S IN THE NIGHT CASTING OUT FEAR, EVEN IN THE CHAOS HE IS HERE –

HE IS HERE – HE IS HERE

HE’LL NEVER CHANGE

HE’LL STAY THE SAME

LIKE YESTERDAY – STILL GOOD

CONSISTENTLY – FAITHFUL TO ME – TODAY AND ALWAYS

HE’S IN THE STORM, HE’S IN THE RAIN, HE’S IN THE MIDDLE OF MY PAIN

HE’S IN THE NIGHT CASTING OUT FEAR, EVEN IN THE CHAOS HE IS HERE –

HE IS HERE – HE IS HERE

Silent Lucidity

I will be watching over you

I am gonna help you see it through

I will protect you in the night

I am smiling next to you, in silent lucidity

My Mother

“A mom’s hug lasts long after she lets go.”

“The heart of a mother is a deep abyss at the bottom of which you will always find forgiveness.”

“God could not be everywhere, and therefore, he made mothers.”

Afterglow

I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one,

I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when day is gone.

I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,

Of happy times, and laughing times, and bright and sunny days.

I’d like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun,

Of happy memories that I leave when life is done

Gentle Face

Your gentle face and patient smile with sadness we recall, you had a kindly word for each and died beloved by all. The voice is mute and stilled the heart, that loved us well and true. Ah, bitter was the trial to part from one so good as you. You are not forgotten loved one nor will you ever be. As long as life and memory last we will remember thee. We miss you now, our hearts are sore, as time goes by we miss you more. Your loving smile, your gentle face no one can fill your vacant place.

Family Chain

We little knew that morning,

God was going to call your name.

In life we loved your dearly,

In death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you,

You did not go alone,

For part of us went with you,

the day God called you home.

You left us beautiful memories,

Your love is still our guide

And though we cannot see you,

You are always by our side.

Our family chain is broken

And nothing seems the same

But as God calls us one by one

The chain will link again

On Angels Wings

On Angel's Wings you were taken away,

But in my heart you will always stay.

I will hear your whisper in the tallest trees,

Feel your love in the gentle breeze.

And when I find I miss you the most,

Inside our beautiful memories

I will hold you close.

You are an angel watching over me

with the comfort and blessings you bring,

You embrace my heart and hold it close,

Forever on Angel's Wings

-Crailin Hardy

The Hands of Time

In everyones life move the hands of time.

Never to be stopped and never to rewind.

We are born by the loving days and die by the passing nights.

Only to walk the earth once, never to live twice.

The Lord hands our roles and we play the parts.

Like puppets in a play, but we are humans with hearts.

Our time will soon be over, it grows closer day by day.

Keep this in mind, because it is the truth that I say.

So love with your heart and not with your mind.

For once it is over, there is no turning back…

The Hands of Time.

Remember

Special people always will be,

Ingrained in our heart and memory.

Look through the tears, the sorrow, the pain,

Reflect on the thoughts you want to retain.

Remember the love, the warm embrace,

Remember the touch, the smiling face.

Remember the person so gentle and kind,

Who always was caring in action and mind.

Always remember , never forget,

People live in our heart,

And if you remember the person within,

Their spirit will never depart.

Precious Gift

One gift, above all others God gives to us to treasure one that knows no time, no place and one gold cannot measure. The precious, poignant, tender gift of Memory ~ that will keep our dear ones ever in our hearts although God gives them sleep. It brings back long remembered things a song, a word, a smile and our world’s a better place~~~~because we had them
for awhile!

Serenity

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

God Saw You Getting Tired

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be, so He put his arms around you, and whispered, "Come to Me".

With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us,

He only takes the best.

Heartstrings

When those we love go away, they never really leave us;

they are with us now, wherever we are.

Those whom we have cherished, live on forever,

for love wraps itself around the heart.

Although it’s difficult now, someday beyond our tears

and all the world’s wrongs; beyond the clouds

and all that we can see and touch, we shall all understand.

That's My Job

Every person carves his spot. And fills the hole with light. And I pray someday I might be

Light as bright as he. Woke up early one bright fall day to spread the tragic news.

After all my travel, I settled down, within a mile or two. I make my living with words and rhyme

And all this tragedy. Should go into my head and out instead As bits of poetry.

But I say "Daddy, I'm so afraid, how will I go on with you gone this way?

How can I come up with a song to say, I love you?"

That's my job, That's what I do

Everything I do is because of you, to keep you safe with me.

That's my job you see.

Everything I do is because of you

To keep you safe with me.

Safely Home

I am home in heaven, dear ones. Oh, so happy and so bright! There is a perfect joy and beauty in the everlasting light.

All the pain and grief is over, every restless tossing passed; I am now at peace forever, safely home in heaven at last. There is work still waiting for you, so you must not idly stand, do it now, while life remaineth, you shall rest in God’s own land. When that work is all completed, oh, the rapture of that meeting; oh, the joy to see you come!

Bridge of Love

There is a bridge of memory.
From earth to heaven above.
It keeps you always near us,
it’s called the bridge of love.
May you always walk in sunshine
and God’s love around you flow,
for happiness you gave us,
no one will ever know.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
but you did not go alone,
for part of us went with you.
The day God called you home.

To Those Who Love Me

When I am gone, just release me, let me go – so I can move into my
afterglow. You mustn’t tie me down with your tears; let’s be happy that we had so many years. I gave you my love, you can only guess how much you gave me in happiness. I thank you for the love you each have shown but now it’s time I traveled alone. So grieve for me a while, if grieve you must, then let your grief be comforted with trust. It’s only for a while that we must part, so bless the memories within your heart. And then, when you must come this way alone, I’ll greet you with a smile and a
“WELCOME HOME.”

When Those We Love

When those we love go away, they never really leave us; they are with us now, wherever we are. Those whom we have cherished, live on forever, for love wraps itself around the heart.

Bible Verses

23rd Psalm

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Psalm 13:5

But I have trusted in thy mercy; My heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

Acts 2:26

Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope.

Romans 15:4

For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

Joshua 1:9

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Psalm 118:14

The Lord is my strength and song,

And He has become my salvation

Matthew 5:4

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Ephesians 2:10

God has made us what we are. In Christ Jesus, God made us to do good works, which God planned in advance for us to live our lives doing.

Isaiah 40:31

Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and nor be faint.

Matthew 7:13-14

Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it.

For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

II Timothy 4:6-7

For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

A Worthy Woman

An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels.

The heart of her husband trusts in her, And he will have no lack of gain….

But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.

Give her the product of her hands,

And let her works praise her in the gates.

Proverbs 3:5-8

 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;

In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil.

It will be health to your flesh,And strength to your bones.
