Obituary of Dennis Keith Whitaker

Dennis Keith Whitaker, age 60, of Lawrenceburg, KY passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. He was born in Shelbyville, KY on January 3, 1963 to the late William Coleman Whitaker and Glenda Faye Hammonds Whitaker. He was married to his wife, Elizabeth Huff Whitaker.

Dennis has lived in Lawrenceburg for the majority of his life. He was a graduate from the Anderson County High School class of ’81. Dennis and his wife, Elizabeth, owned the Landing-Steak and Seafood in Lawrenceburg from 2007-2009. He loved to be outdoors; hunting, fishing, and gardening were some of his favorite activities. Dennis also enjoyed antiques, yard selling, and talking- he knew everyone and never met a stranger.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Huff Whitaker; children, Beverly Curtsinger (Bryon) and Ryan Whitaker (Danielle); sister, Patricia Lynn Marinelli (Junior); grandchildren, Layne Curtsinger, Addison Pauley, Maxwell Curtsinger, Lucas Whitaker, and Ella Kate Curtsinger; numerous extended family members; and best friends, Steve and Rosalind Collins

Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, William Coleman Whitaker and Glenda Faye Hammonds Whitaker.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at Saffell House Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with the funeral service immediately following at 3 p.m.. Brother Glenn Corn will be officiating the service.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Steve Collins, Ben Gee, Dougie Bentley, Joey Elmore, Curtis Ethington, Chuck Ethington, Donnie Collins, and Jeff Young.
